(CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, REPUBLIC INVESTMENTS (GHANA) LTD)

Madeline Nettey is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Republic Investments, having served as the CEO of the company’s subsidiary, Republic Securities. Prior to these appointments, she was the Manager for the Financial Advisory Services Department of Republic Investments. She joined the Republic Bank Group over a decade ago, serving initially as Head of Research at Republic Securities. Prior to joining Republic, Madeline managed the Corporate Finance & Research Department at Strategic African Securities Ltd, an Investment Bank in Ghana.

Her rich experience in the Investment Banking Industry spans Funds & Pensions Management, Corporate Finance & Advisory Services, Portfolio Analysis & Management, Structuring & Fund Raising Programmes (Equity & Debt Financing), Project Management, Company

Valuations & Financial Modelling, Sponsoring Brokerage Services, Securities Trading & Investment Research.
Madeline has played key roles in several successful transactions on the Ghana Stock Exchange which raised equity capital, and has also been instrumental in strategically leading debt financing through private placements towards successful execution.

Madeline holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics (First Class Honours) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana, and an MPhil in Finance from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, UK. She is a Certified Pensions Specialist, and a Fellow of the Global Academy of Finance & Management (GAFM). She also holds a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (UK). Madeline has over a decade and a half, been licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Ghana as an Investment Representative.

HEAD, INVESTMENTS MANAGEMENT

Edwin Gyamfi is the Head of Investments Management and has Investment Banking experience which spans over a decade and a half. Prior to his current appointment, he was the Senior Portfolio Manager at the Asset Management Department of Republic Investments. He’s been involved in the design of customized investment solutions, private wealth and strategically oversees the implementation of the adopted risk-based approach to the Pensions Fund Management business of the organization. He continues to be very instrumental in many corporate business development leads.

Edwin’s role encompasses exploration of investment options, risk and intrinsic opportunities, portfolio construction and monitoring, sector allocation strategies, returns optimization and stakeholder engagements towards growth in revenue and funds under management. Prior to joining Republic Investments, he had worked with The Teachers’ Fund as an officer responsible for monitoring and evaluation of loan applications and repayments, Benefits administration for fund contributors, amongst others.

Edwin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration (Banking and Finance), University of Ghana Business School, Ghana, and an MBA (Finance) from the Wisconsin International University College. He is a Certified Pensions Specialist, and a Fellow of the Global Academy of Finance & Management (GAFM). Edwin is Licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Ghana as an Investment Representative.

HEAD, FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION

Martin Asante is the Head of Finance & Administration, Republic Investments having previously served as the Head of Accounts. Prior to this appointment he worked with Republic Bank Ghana PLC in various capacities including serving as a Credit Officer with the Corporate Banking Division and later as Head of Management Accounts and Head of Financial Accounts also with Republic Bank. Mr. Asante also worked as Audit Trainee with Ayew Agyemang Turkson & Co., a local Audit Firm in Ghana as well as Ernst and Young Ghana Prior to joining the Republic Bank Ghana Group.

Martin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting Option from the University of Ghana, Legon. Martin’s over a decade and a half expertise spans Auditing, Corporate Financial Reporting, Corporate Taxation & Planning, Budgetary Control and Financial Planning.

Mr. Asante is a Chartered Accountant by Profession and a member of ACCA. He holds an MSc (Accounting with Finance) from London South Bank University.

HEAD, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & FAS

Baffour Asare-Wiredu Jnr is the Head, Business Development & Financial Advisory Services (FAS) Department of Republic Investments. Prior to joining Republic Investments, he was the Investment Manager at the SkyFox Limited, a multinational Impact Investment Firm operating from its headquarters in Accra.

Baffour joined the Republic Investments team with extensive knowledge and experience in Investment Portfolio Management, Investments Products Development, Investments Risk Assessment of transactions and Mitigation Strategies, Transaction Due Diligence (incl. investments appraisals & company (private & public) valuations. Origination, Structuring and Crystallization of various Corporate Finance Deals backed by Business Development leads. He has facilitated originations of various multi-million USD and GHS Corporate Finance Deals in areas such as Financial Services, Oil and Gas, Agribusiness, Contract Financing, Mining, Construction, Education, services etc. Baffour has about a decade of Investment Banking experience, serving in various capacities.

He holds an MSc (Finance), Bristol Business School, University of the West of England, UK, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. Baffour is Licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Ghana as an Investment Representative in addition to holding a Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments Certificate, UK.

HEAD, CLIENT SERVICES

Lydia Nkrumah is the Head of Client Services, leading client experience and oversees the customer services, administration and service delivery towards the growth of the company’s products, including the five collective investment schemes namely: Republic Unit Trust, Republic Equity Trust, Republic Real Estate Investment Trust, Republic Future Plan Trust, and the Republic Wealth Trust.

Prior to her appointment as Head of Client Services, Lydia was the Deputy Head, Investment Advice and Marketing at the Managed Funds Department of Republic Investments, rising to the office of Head of Department of the same unit. Before joining Republic Investments, Lydia worked as a Supervisor with Affiliate Computer Service (ACS).

Lydia through exemplary leadership, drove the sales and marketing of the company’s products through targeted relationship management, undertook various investment outreach programs and effectively led dynamic sales teams to win and attract significant investment deposits from institutional, retail and high net-worth clients which culminating in tremendous growth in assets under management (AUM).

She holds an Executive MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana Business School, and is licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission as an Investment Representative.

 

CEO, REPUBLIC SECURITIES (SUBSIDIARY OF RIGL)

Divine is the Acting CEO of Republic Securities (RSGL), the Brokerage Subsidiary of Republic Investments (RIGL). Prior to this appointment, he was the Deputy General Manager of RIGL, having served in other capacities as Portfolio Manager and Head of Managed Funds. Before joining the Republic Group, he served as a Senior Analyst at Emos Consultancy Limited where he specialized in financial valuation, project finance, equity and debt structuring.

His experience in Investments and Funds Management, over a decade and a half, spans the operations and management of Collective Investment Schemes (CIS), High Net Worth Portfolios, pensions, and corporate financial advisory across diverse industries.

Divine holds an MFin. (International Finance) from the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom (UK), Bachelor of Science (Accounting Option) from the University of Ghana, and an Investment Representative License by Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana.

 

 HEAD/ LEGAL, COMPLIANCE & RISK

Ms. Patience Enyonam Akoni is the Head, Legal, Compliance & Risk for Republic Investments (Ghana) LTD and Republic Securities and also serves as the Company Secretary for the two companies. She is the Anti-Money Laundering Relationship Officer (AMLRO) for the companies.

Prior to joining Republic, she was an Associate at Atuguba & Associates, a subsidiary of LADA Group of Companies. She also worked with ENSafrica, Ghana (formerly Oxford and Beaumont Solicitors).

She is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana and a Member of the Ghana Bar Association. Her experience includes legal representation and advising on various aspects of commercial and contract law, drafting and reviewing of legal instruments, litigation, due diligence and regulatory framework of corporate entities and ADR.

Patience holds a Bachelor of Arts (French and Spanish) Degree and an LLB from the University of Ghana, Legon. She has a Professional Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law, as well as a Diploma in Human Resource Management, Institute of Commercial Management, UK.
