Historical Background

Republic Investments (Ghana) LTD (Republic Investments) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC. The company, originally known as the Home Finance Investment Fund (HFIF) was incorporated as a private limited liability company on July 17, 1993. It commenced business on August 26, 1993.

In May 1991, Republic Investments (Ghana) LTD established the First Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) in Ghana, the Republic Unit Trust (a Money-Market Fund). This was in a bid to continue the pacesetting tradition of its parent company, Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC. In furtherance of its objectives, it then established the First Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in July 1995. To further provide diversified investment options to its varying clientele base, Republic Investments (Ghana) LTD currently manages five funds, the third and fourth being the Republic Equity Trust and the Republic Future Plan Trust (F-Plan), a Balanced Fund. The fifth, launched in the year 2022 is a Fixed Income Fund, the Republic Wealth Trust.

Republic Investments is also licensed as a Pensions Fund Manager following the enactment of the three-tier pensions regulation, Act 766 in the year 2011. The expertise of the company extends to the provision of Provident Fund Management, Welfare & Endowment Funds Management, Portfolio Management for High Net Worth (HNW) Individuals as well as Corporates and Group Funds. Altogether, the company has over a Billion Ghana Cedis of funds under management.
